Pakistan’s First Composting Plant

Pakistan just inaugarated its first compost plant! Both the public and private sectors of this country were responsible in creating the nation’s first compost plant this year.

The plant – ‘Lahore Compost’ – has been set up on Bund Road near Mahmood Booti with the financial assistance of a multinational company on build, operate and transfer basis for 25 years.

The plant will help to keep the city clean and reduce the amount of garbage sent to the local landfills. Read more here.

    I am Santosh K. Nayak, an Indian. Having a long dream to see my township clean and garbage free in Orissa located eastern part of India. I wish to start up setting a smallpalnt of 100-200 tonnes capacity plant. Can ytou pls advise me the total plant cost investment, feasibility and marketing compost etc. I have gone thorugh the details on Municipal compost and Pakisthan’s first compost plant in lahore. And really feel ahppy that the idea which I had conceived during my school days being implemented practically. It is good for mankind. I beleive the similar plants also implemented in some parts of India, but I don’t have any information. Can you pls advice at the earliest.
